A property title search is comprehensive, so it looks for all local records and sources to uncover all available information about a property. Most importantly, a property title search will tell you who has a claim on the home. SLG will provide you with a simple report identifying the current property owner, any open mortgages, and liens on the property. Typical liens are outstanding taxes, judgements against previous owners that have attached to the property, and contractor/home-improvement liens.
